History

Duncanville Outreach Ministry (DOM) grew from a closet at the First United Methodist Church in Duncanville, to their current location at the corner of Cherry and Hasting streets. DOM is a non-profit organization working to reduce and alleviate hunger within the community by distributing food and financial assistance to qualified needy families in the City of Duncanville.

Duncanville Outreach Ministry was founded in 1988 and serves the 75116 and 75137 zip codes and provides a pantry for residents in those zip codes that have fallen on hard times. DOM also provides, when funds allow, financial assistance for utilities, rent, prescriptions, and other needs. Another feature of DOM is the Thrifty Station. The Thrifty Station sells clothing, household items, personal hygiene, and other items at a discount. The store is open to the general public.
